Homewood, Alabama, October 24, 2014– IDtech360, a U.S. based distributor of biometric based identity and access products, today announced its partnership with Virdi, an internationally recognized biometric technology brand manufactured in South Korea by Union Community, Ltd.
Fingerprints are the oldest biometric known. Fingerprints remain unique and consistent throughout a person’s life. Using small digital imagining devices fingerprints can now be captured, digitized into mathematical descriptions, and compared by computers against databases.
Iris recognition is an automated method of biometric identification that uses mathematical pattern-recognition techniques on video images of an individual’s eyes, whose complex random patterns are unique and can be seen from some distance.
The relationships between the parts of the face, its curves and contours, remain relatively stable from childhood onward. Facial recognition techniques use this stability as their point of departure. Facial recognition technologies utilize digital photographs to create mathematical descriptions of individual faces and then compare them against those stored in a database.
The building blocks of the Mobile Platform have been combined in various configurations to create a line of cost effective, off the shelf, mobile biometric product solutions. These products range from standalone handheld solutions, with no back end AFIS requirements, to systems that fully integrate mobile and back end components.
